We are thrilled to celebrate the Metro Sepulveda Transit Corridor team for helping earn a CAPIO EPIC Award of Distinction in the Community Relations/Participation category at this year's CAPIO Conference! This recognition — one of CAPIO's highest honors through the EPIC Awards program — is reserved for exceptional work in public agency communications and community engagement, and is a true reflection of the dedication both our team and Metro's team brought to one of the region's most significant transit projects.

Metro 2028 Games Support Services

As part of Legacy 2028’s team, Arellano was selected to support Metro’s GSS Task Order 03: Executive & Program Development Team Management, which advances planning, coordination, and delivery of key mobility programs in preparation for the 2028 Olympic and Paralympic Games. Arellano’s scope focuses on Reconnecting Communities and Neighborhoods (RCN) Engagement Support, helping Metro implement a community engagement program for projects that improve multimodal access in historically underserved communities, including bus priority enhancements, first/last mile improvements, and mobility hubs. Arellano’s work includes project management support, communications planning, outreach documentation, informational materials, stakeholder database and Salesforce/Asana management, and community engagement activities such as community meetings, door-to-door canvassing, pop-ups, transit rider intercepts, multilingual interpretation, and coordination with Metro and project partners through final design and implementation.

OCTA Public Outreach Consultant for Rail Capital Projects

Arellano Associates was selected for OCTA’s Rail Capital Projects, supporting Project R improvements and related rail investments that enhance safety, reliability, and operations across Orange County’s commuter rail system. The contract will support outreach for projects such as coastal rail stabilization, bridge replacements, slope stabilization, station improvements, the Orange County Maintenance Facility, and other rail and transit projects. Arellano will be developing and implementing public outreach programs, maintaining stakeholder databases, preparing multilingual print and digital communications, supporting community meetings and pop-up events, coordinating canvassing and targeted communications plans, tracking public comments and constituent issues, and translating complex technical information into clear, accessible materials that build public awareness and confidence in OCTA’s rail improvements.

Move OC Active Transportation Plan

Arellano Associates, as part of Alta’s team, was selected to support OCTA’s Move OC Active Transportation Plan, a countywide effort to guide future investments in walking, biking, and rolling infrastructure, programs, policies, and funding strategies across Orange County. The Plan will establish a goal-driven framework to improve safety, accessibility, and convenience for people of all ages and abilities, informed by public input and organized around four geographic subregions. Arellano’s scope focuses on leading a two-round public and stakeholder engagement program, including a Public Engagement Plan, stakeholder and public surveys, CBO-supported outreach, virtual meetings, workshop-style pop-ups, digital media content, multilingual collateral, and summary reporting to ensure community priorities meaningfully inform the Plan’s vision, goals, objectives, performance measures, and recommendations.
